Meal Procedures
-
Each student is issued a student identification number when they enroll in the Blackfoot School District. Depending on the length of that ID number, we use all or part of the number for their meal account number. Funds maybe deposited in this account in any amount and may be used for complete meals, Ala Carte items, or to purchase milk. Payment may be made at the cafeteria, the Child Nutrition (CN) Office (located at the District Office 270 E. Bridge St. Blackfoot, ID 83221) , or on-line at https://linqconnect.com
-
We encourage payments be made in advance. Positive balances on the account will transfer with the student from year to year or when they move to another school within the Blackfoot School District #55. Negative balances are required to be paid before a student can check out of a school or before graduation. A student may also pay cash on a daily basis, but will still need to use their ID number for accurate accounting. Using another student’s account is considered fraud and may lead to disciplinary action. Checks will be accepted for the purchase of meals only. Please write the student’s name on the check and make checks payable to Blackfoot School Lunch.
-
We currently allow students to charge meals. If you DO NOT want your student to be allowed to charge meals, please let Child Nutrition know and we can put a note on their account. Low and negative balance notices will be sent out monthly. You can contact the Child Nutrition office at any time to check the balance of your child's account. You can also monitor their account at https://linqconnect.com

Application for free and reduced price lunches must be resubmitted EACH YEAR, UNLESS you have been notified by Child Nutrition of Direct Certification. Applications are available at registration in each cafeteria, at the Child Nutrition Office, or online on at https://linqconnect.com The previous year's application remains in effect for a very short time but we must have a current, approved application on file. The student will be charged the full meal price for meals provided in between applications. Please read and complete the application carefully. Incomplete or incorrect applications will not be accepted. We would like to encourage families to submit the application if you think you might be eligible even if your child does not choose to eat in the cafeteria. Funding for several programs is based on the percentage of students eligible for the Free and Reduced Price Meal Program. All information is strictly confidential and numbers only are reported, NOT names.
